How the great villain serves the vision of the great Director
Is there ever a great story without a great author or storyteller? And has there ever been a great movie without a great director? In the same way that there is rarely a great story without a compelling villain—and likewise without a great protagonist—so also, the presentation of the great story before the eyes of men requires a great Director. And for St. Paul, that great Director had to be Yahweh, or Jehovah of his famous Torah— what modern Christians now refer to as the Old Testament. There could be no one else.
And for Paul, his own people—the Israelites—they must have played a central role in the unfolding of that epic story; they had to be the historical protagonists.
